It's as if the Staad Earthmoving Days had never been over. It may have been five years since the last edition, but the latest edition, on Friday, September 13th, and Saturday, September 14th, in Veghel, Brabant, felt like the good old days. It was atmospheric, dynamic, and had so much to see and do.
2026 update: This year we're organizing the Staad Grondverzetdagen again, this time on Friday, September 18th and Saturday, September 19th. Save the date, and you'll be there! More information about these open days will follow soon.
The post continues below the image. And at the very bottom is the aftermovie.
Develon importer and dealer Staad, also a manufacturer of electric earthmoving machinery, once again pulled out all the stops. With a first: the DX555LC Electric crawler excavator. The machine attracted a lot of attention when it started its demonstration. It strummed, turned, and dug into the specially constructed giant sandbox. Staad will officially present its latest acquisition soon, but it was already brought out of the stable for these days.
A new feature of this edition was that the event took place at two locations: the current headquarters and also 400 meters away at the new Staad R&D building. At the main location, everything related to diesel was on display. The latest and cleaner Develon earthmoving machines were on display, including various types of excavators, a heavy-duty wheel loader, a robust dozer, and the new Staad combination.
The Grondverzetdagen (Earthmoving Days) are known for the opportunity to operate one of the machines yourself, and this edition certainly had plenty of that. Huge sandpits were set up at both locations, allowing visitors to test, feel, and experience how the latest diesel engines, as well as the emission-free electric ones, operate.
Visitors were welcomed to the new R&D building to see the electric machinery. There, everyone was greeted by the new DX555LC Electric, as well as its siblings, the DX355LC Electric and the DX165W Electric, displayed in a massive sandbox. Several electric mobile excavators from the "De Bouwplaats van Morgen" (The Construction Site of Tomorrow) consortium were also on display.
Just as a conventional machine refuels with diesel, an electric machine needs to be charged or fitted with a fully charged, interchangeable Powerbox 400. At the specially designed charging plaza, visitors could explore the products and services of Staad's newest brand: Fusion . Several Powerbox 400s, various chargers, and Fieldmasters (AC, DC, and Grid) were on display. Fusion professionals were constantly discussing the possibilities of an optimal green energy supply, because that is what Fusion stands for.
In addition to Staad's machines, various suppliers were also present, including BMair International, Den Hartog, engcon, Rototilt, SCM Modifications, SITECH Solutions and Wiejelo Equipment.
