DEVELON presents new DX23E-7 electric mini excavator

16 February 2026

The DX23E-7 is the latest addition to Develon’s growing range of electric powered excavators.

Develon has launched the new DX23E-7 electric-powered mini excavator with an enclosed cab, the latest addition to the company's rapidly expanding range of electric excavators. The DX23E-7 comes standard with the largest battery capacity in its class, at 32 kWh, with an additional 40 kWh battery option available. In addition to the alternative 40 kWh battery pack, the DX23ZE-7 also offers the option of a quick-change function for working with attachments. The DX23E-7 features fully optimized electrical systems and components for operation in tough and demanding environments. It offers a charging rate fast enough for next-day use, even with slow-charging equipment.

Available all day long

The DX23E-7 is designed for all-day operation. The standard version with a 32 kWh battery capacity offers an indicative runtime of eight hours, depending on the application. The indicative charging time to 100% is 6–10 hours with normal charging (3 kW/6 kW) and 1.5 hours with fast charging (15 kW). For the version with a 40 kWh battery capacity, the runtime can increase to approximately 10 hours, depending on the application. A full charge to 100% takes 7–12 hours with normal charging and 2.5 hours to 80% with fast charging (15 kW). In addition, the new DX23E-7 combines low noise levels for a quiet and comfortable working environment with emission-free operation, along with the features and performance enhancements that characterize Develon’s next-generation DX-7 series mini excavators.

Superior performance

The DX23E-7 offers enhanced performance over the Develon diesel excavator (DX19-7) on which it is based, with a 5% higher lifting capacity, complemented by other improvements such as higher working and travel speeds and improved stability. The development of the Electric Drive System (EPS) in the DX23E-7 included the removal of the DX19-7’s frame cross-plate and a larger swing radius (+3.5cm) to create space for the battery pack installation.

To emphasize the electric character of this machine, the DX23E-7 also features a new color scheme and new graphic decals. Because electric excavators do not have a combustion engine, the DX23ZE-7 requires significantly less periodic maintenance than the diesel-powered DX19-7. Only hydraulic-related maintenance is required, with service intervals of 1,000 operating hours.

"The DX23E-7 is a powerful addition to Develon's electric machine lineup," says Stéphane Dieu, Product Manager Excavators Europe at Develon. "It offers significant advantages over the diesel version thanks to its low noise level and emission-free operation. Compact equipment like mini-excavators is often used in urban and residential areas, where work is performed in close proximity to other workers and the public."

Thanks to its extendable undercarriage, the new DX23ZE-7 electric excavator can easily pass through narrow passages and entrances and exits, making it ideal for work in confined spaces or indoors, such as demolition and construction. Once the excavator has reached the work area, the operator can widen the undercarriage for greater stability and higher lifting capacity. With its compact dimensions, the DX23E-7 is an excellent solution for construction and rental companies operating in sensitive environments where low noise levels or night work are required.

Telematics as standard

Telematics is standard on the DX23E-7 mini excavator. Operators and dealers can remotely monitor the status, location, and productivity of their machine via an app or website. Telematics can help owners:

  • Minimize equipment theft and track machinery;
  • To prevent unauthorized use of the machine;
  • To see when maintenance is required;
  • To align notifications with the customer's schedule;
  • Monitor oil pressure, operating temperature and more;
  • Using data to train operators for maximum productivity.
