Two DX355LC Electric with extended boom for Boskalis

21 January 2026

After earlier deliveries of DX165W Electric mobile excavators and three electric crawler excavators, we delivered two more electric crawler excavators this month for our client Boskalis Nederland . These deliveries took place in the fresh snow! That made it extra special and resulted in beautiful photos of these DX355LC Electric crawler excavators , which you can of course see in the photo album below this post.

Boskalis Nederland is a leading contractor in hydraulic engineering and civil infrastructure projects with a rich history and a strong focus on innovation and sustainability. These include the iconic Delta Works, the large-scale Maasvlakte 2 expansion of the Port of Rotterdam, the groundbreaking Zandmotor coastal protection and nature development project, and the construction of the Marker Wadden, an innovative nature restoration project in the Markermeer lake, and various infrastructure projects, such as the A1 and A6 motorways.

The brand-new electric crawler excavators were both delivered directly to the project sites using the Staad combination. In two trips, we delivered the excavators to operator Aatje in Wijhe (Overijssel) and to operator Loek in Katwijk (South Holland). Our demonstrator, Joey, gave both operators a demo of these emission-free powerhouses. Afterward, they were both able to get straight to work.

Both electric excavators are equipped with two interchangeable Powerbox 400 battery packs on each machine. This allows for more than a full workday without having to change or recharge. They can still be swapped with the other Powerbox 400 batteries Boskalis has in its fleet. These emission-free excavators are therefore essentially available 24/7, making them exceptionally flexible. A battery change takes just five minutes per Powerbox battery pack.

Boskalis wanted to equip the DX355LC Electric crawler excavators with a widened and raised undercarriage, a longer boom, and an additional counterweight. Customization, in other words, and we appreciate that. More about Boskalis's customer request was already featured in Grondwerk magazine , where Anton van Dongen, Head of Technical Services (dry equipment), explains it in more detail.

In our workshop, we carried out the following work for these electric crawler excavators according to Boskalis' customer requirements:

  • Boom extended to 13 meters;
  • Additional weight (counterweight);
  • Undercarriage widened to approx. 3.80 m;
  • Verachtert hydraulic quick coupler;
  • Groeneveld grease lubrication;
  • Trimble Earthworks GPS;
  • Box (closed) for storing GPS system;
  • Prepared for BMair overpressure unit;
  • Sprayed in company colours + clear lacquer layer;
  • Company name sticker applied.

We wish Boskalis Nederland and the operators Aatje and Loek many enjoyable, safe and emission-free operating hours.

The DX355LC Electric, like our other Electric models, is known for its endurance, which always lasts more than a full workday. This results in 12 to 14 hours of operation with this excavator on two Powerbox 400 battery packs. But this machine is certainly also known for its unparalleled power. Ideally suited for long and tough workdays without having to charge or change batteries in between.
