For our client Boskalis Nederland , this time we did not deliver their very latest addition to a project site. We delivered it to a Boskalis office in Rotterdam. The Staad combination carrying this excavator proceeded to Opijnenstraat, where the Boskalis BOKA Days were organized that same day and the day after. Just before this event, we delivered the fifth of seven brand-new DX355LC Electric crawler excavators .
The Boskalis BOKA Days, an annual event, is specifically intended for students (such as MBO students in machine operator training programs and HBO students) to get acquainted with the sector and Boskalis. The turnout was large, with no fewer than 300 students present during these days. The students participated in various interactive workshops, such as testing in the asphalt lab, building a dike within a specific budget, working with drones and GPS systems, and operating electric equipment, including the powerful, zero-emission DX355LC Electric.
The nice thing about this episode for us was definitely that our demonstrator gave a detailed explanation and demonstration of this crawler excavator to the operator, who was able to immediately share his knowledge with the students present shortly afterwards. Every episode is a treat, but this one made it a bit more special because it took place at an event.
This electric excavator is equipped with two interchangeable Powerbox 400 battery packs , allowing it to effectively operate 24/7 with only a five-minute interruption for changing a battery pack. We have once again made Boskalis happy with a custom DX355LC electric crawler excavator. Here at Staad in the workshop, we installed a few additional options entirely according to customer wishes:
Verachtert CW40 hydraulic quick coupler;
Groeneveld grease lubrication, where the grease pot (8kg instead of 4kg) has been lowered for easy filling;
Trimble Earthworks GPS preparation;
BMair Freshfilter overpressure unit preparation;
Electrically switched swing damping;
Electrically switch bucket cylinder to extra function;
Pressureless return;
Replace hose rupture valves of lifting cylinders and arm cylinders (3x) with Atlantic Fluid hose rupture valves)
Chamfering track plates;
Work light 1x left side and 1x right side of the dipper stick;
Two extra work lights on counterweight;
Install folding steps at the cabin entrance;
Sprayed in company colors and finished with a clear lacquer coating.
We wish Boskalis Nederland and the operator of this machine many pleasant, safe, and emission-free operating hours.
