Develon has expanded the 9-series crawler excavator line with the introduction of two new, larger models, the DX360LC-9 (37 tonnes) and DX400HD-9 (42 tonnes). These complement a unique and innovative platform based on fully electronic hydraulics (FEH) and integrated artificial intelligence. The new models join the 23-tonne DX230LC-9 and 26-tonne DX260LC-9, which were first presented at Bauma 2025 and launched across Europe last year.
The DX360LC-9 is powered by the Develon DX08V engine with an output of 227 kW (304 hp) at 1800 rpm (SAE J1995) and a maximum torque of 1230 kgf/m at 1300 rpm. The machine has a maximum digging depth (standard boom) of 7.5 m and a maximum digging reach of 11 m.
The same Develon DX08V engine – a new development to replace the earlier Scania engine – also forms the heart of the DX400HD-9. It delivers 254 kW (341 hp) at 1800 rpm (SAE J1995) and a maximum torque of 1460 kgf/m at 1300 rpm. This model also has a maximum digging depth of 7.5 m and a reach of 11 m.

Develon’s 9 Series excavators represent a fundamental change in the way operators work with heavy machinery. By switching from hydraulic pilot control to an advanced FEH system, Develon introduces a range of smart features that increase safety and precision on the job site and lower the entry barrier for new operators.
Like all 9-series machines, the DX360LC-9 and DX400HD-9 combine ten groundbreaking technologies, setting new standards in productivity, safety, ease of operation, and sustainability.
“This is much more than just adding a new generation of excavators – it is about setting a new standard for the entire industry,” says Stephane Dieu, Product Manager Develon excavators in Europe. “With our 9-series machines, the excavator is no longer just a tool, but an intelligent partner.”

With the 9 Series, Develon takes productivity to a higher level. The new crawler excavators combine smart technology with performance and versatility, resulting in up to 10% fuel savings and up to 7% more engine power. According to Stephane Dieu, features such as the camera system, Advanced Lift Assist, smartphone starting, and a factory-integrated 2D system ensure greater safety and efficiency.
The 9 Series offers greater lifting capacity, thereby increasing productivity during the workday.
The newly designed joystick offers extensive personalization for optimal comfort and control.
In addition, the PHM (Prognostics & Health Management) system continuously monitors critical components such as hydraulic oil, engine oil, and pumps. This helps predict maintenance, limit downtime, and reduce costs.
Via the My Develon fleet management app, operators can open the cab and start the engine without a physical key using a Bluetooth® digital key.
