Doosan has launched a new range of multi-purpose buckets for its wheel loaders, covering capacities from 2.0 to 6.7 m 3 . With this new range of general purpose buckets, Doosan is taking the first step in expanding new attachments for Doosan wheel loaders.
Key features of the new buckets include wide configurability and increased capacities. This assures customers that the new buckets perfectly match their specific applications. Manufactured from Hardox® steel, the new range of buckets offers increased wear resistance compared to hardened steel buckets. All parts that come into contact with the ground or other materials are designed to facilitate optimum penetration into material hills. This lowers fuel consumption. In addition, new shock absorbers provide additional comfort for operators. This reduces both the load on the wheel loader and the bucket structures.
All universal buckets are equipped with the new shock absorbers as standard. Doosan decided to include this innovation in its range after two years of successful testing. The stoppers on the buckets are mounted on a durable rubber strip, which reduces shock and noise when the bucket rolls back.
Fully configurable bins
Damien Dambre, Product Manager Special Applications & Attachments Development for Doosan Infracore Europe, said: “The new range of general purpose buckets is almost fully configurable. In addition to offering customers a choice of teeth or bolt-on rims for the buckets, customers can choose from a wide selection of features, such as coupling systems, floor shapes, types of spill guards, bucket guards, blade shapes and more. ”
To help customers make this choice, Doosan dealers can use an online tool (the Doosan Wheel Loader Bucket Configurator ) to configure buckets to perfectly match their customers' Doosan wheel loaders. The tool consists of eight easy steps, with advice at each step. This helps the Doosan dealer make a choice based on their customer's needs. The result: a perfectly configured bucket.
A detailed approach
This process was ably demonstrated by the bucket chosen for a new extended Doosan DL580-5 wheel loader sold by Doosan dealer ITT Mach10 to the Cheval Group in France. They use the new DL580-5 in Drome to transport material from a quarry and load it into the hopper of a rock crusher.
Once the Doosan wheel loader was selected, a detailed study of quarry conditions and operator preferences was conducted to determine exactly the right wheel loader configuration. Not only the tires had special attention, especially the box was under a magnifying glass. For the Drome application, the dealer has supplied a 6.7 m³ bucket with a width of 3400 mm, the specifications of which have been established in direct collaboration with the machine operator and using the Doosan Wheel Loader Bucket Bucket Configurator tool .
Using the tool, the operator selected a bucket with a rounded shape, protective wear plates under the bucket, convex side cutters and a bolted, three-piece, reversible, straight-counter blade. The bucket is fitted with a top leak protection to protect the cylinders.
The full range of Doosan wheel loaders
The new range of general purpose buckets is applicable to Doosan's full range of high performance wheel loaders. The wheel loader range consists of 13 models with operating weights from 12 to 36 tons and bucket capacities from 1.9 to 6.7 m³ for a wide range of material handling and loading applications. Doosan wheel loaders offer a number of advanced features as standard that are only available as an option on other machines on the market.
