The first Staad Europe 17W wheeled excavators will be driven out of the field electrically in mid-summer. Electric driving takes on a new dimension with the integration of the advanced ZF Group eTRAC electric drive system.
The eTRAC system takes power, efficiency, and convenience to the next level. It combines a 2-speed powershift transmission with a liquid-cooled PSM electric motor with inverter, integrated parking brake, and robust ZF axles. With a maximum torque of 850 Nm and a continuous output of 80 kW, the electric drive system delivers impressive performance.

Did you know that...
During braking, the generated energy is fed back into the Powerbox 300 on the machine. This energy is reused immediately, which also allows for the use of a smaller, replaceable Powerbox battery pack, so the battery pack is no longer visible on the excavator.
Just like Staad's other electric earthmoving machines, this emission-free powerhouse runs for more than a full workday on its interchangeable Powerbox. With a Powerbox change (a changeover time of just 5 minutes), this excavator even runs 24/7.
