STAAD 17W: awarded an iF DESIGN AWARD
This award was presented in the Product Design discipline, Machinery category, and recognizes the innovative and outstanding design of this electric mobile excavator . Read more about it here.
A brand-new and groundbreaking electric wheeled excavator specifically designed for operator comfort. The STAAD 17W isn't a converted machine, but a fully electric solution that rolls off the production line emission-free. The design of this electric machine is optimized for working in tight spaces, with a compact upper structure and an innovative boom design. The overall swing radius of the upper structure has been reduced by 74 centimeters compared to a comparable standard 17.4-ton diesel excavator.
With this wheeled excavator, Staad introduces the Powerbox 300, a robust and compact battery designed to withstand tough conditions, making it ideal for dusty environments. The newly developed, interchangeable Powerbox 300 can also be used as an independent, standalone AC generator, providing a flexible, sustainable energy solution for various on-site power needs. With the Powerbox 300, the STAAD 17W excavator can operate continuously for 9 to 11 hours*.
The STAAD 17W is 100% emission-free and offers the high productivity you expect from a machine. It is powered by an electric motor delivering 104 kW of nominal power. Thanks to the easily interchangeable Powerbox 300, this machine can be used 24/7. Replacing a Powerbox 300 is as quick as refueling a diesel machine. The use of a high-voltage system, an electric chassis, and further optimizations have reduced losses and increased efficiency.
Note: The STAAD 17W will be available in mid-2026. Follow our social media channels for more information. Also visit the Staad Manufacturer website: www.staad.com.
