UPDATE : The STAAD 23LCR, our self-designed and built electric crawler excavator, has also been awarded an iF Award. Because the announcement of the STAAD 23LCR was scheduled for March 24, 2026, this award could still be announced. We are incredibly proud that this zero-emission excavator has also been awarded.
STAAD proudly announces that the electric mobile excavator, the STAAD 17W , and the Powerbox 300 battery pack have been awarded the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2026. This globally renowned award serves as a seal of quality for outstanding design and engineering quality. The award has been presented for over 70 years by iF International Forum Design GmbH, one of the oldest independent design institutions in the world.
The award was presented in the Product Design discipline, Machinery category, and recognizes the innovative and outstanding design of the products: STAAD 17W and the Powerbox 300. This places STAAD among the best out of more than 10,000 entries from 68 countries – an impressive achievement that underscores the highly competitive nature of this award. A third award was also presented to STAAD; more on this product will follow later.
The STAAD 17W was chosen as the winner due to its unique design and sustainability impact, but the Powerbox 300 also scored highly on these aspects. With this, STAAD managed to convince the international expert jury, consisting of 129 independent design professionals, to distinguish itself from high-quality competition, and these products deserve to receive the coveted seal of approval.
