We are a young (although our history dates back to 1913), innovative, and fast-growing family business with a professional team of enthusiastic colleagues. We work in beautiful offices, have modern workshops, and ample room for product development. We work for a large number of national and international clients, and with us, you get the space to develop yourself.
At Staad, no two days are the same. Our customers often have unique requirements and purchase specific machines. Because we receive 'standard' machines as an importer of Develon, we have the rewarding task of building up all customer-specific wishes. These extra options ensure that the machine is upgraded from a fine machine to a super machine with potentially every option. Think, for example, of extra hydraulic functions, special tires or fenders, and every conceivable attachment. But also a fresh coat of paint and stickers fully matching the customer's corporate image. Customization options are also possible; we go to great lengths in this regard. We do this not only for conventional earthmoving machines but also for electric excavators , about which you can read more shortly.
In addition to being a Develon importer, we are also a Develon dealer for the Southern Netherlands. We are happy to deliver new machines to your business or a project location; anything is possible. After delivery, the customer can turn to us at any time for the best service (24/7 breakdown service), repairs, maintenance, parts, and tailored advice. As you can see, we have a lot to offer, all under one roof. But that is not all; read on to discover, among other things, how innovative we are here at Staad.
Since 2019, Staad has been fully committed to the possibilities of converting conventional earthmoving machines to emission-free. In this case, we are converting to electric, and we are even a frontrunner in this field in the Netherlands. Unlike our dealership for the Southern Netherlands, we supply our electric machines throughout the Netherlands, as well as beyond the national borders. For example, many electric earthmoving machines supplied by us are already operating in Scandinavia. Sometimes with temperatures dropping below 30 degrees, and it is working well.
Improving and further developing electric excavators and the associated charging infrastructure products is also part of our work. It is interesting to note that we also produce the necessary battery packs, known as Powerboxes , for our earthmoving machines ourselves, just like the smart software. The future is emission-free; at Staad, we have known that for years. Drawing on our experience with conventional and converted electric earthmoving machines and the associated charging infrastructure products in the civil engineering sector, we started several years ago to research, and subsequently design and build, our own mobile and fully electric excavator, the STAAD 17W. At Bauma 2025, Staad presented itself with equal pride in a new role as a manufacturer: this brand-new, entirely proprietary, innovative powerhouse, a world premiere! The Dutch premiere of this emission-free top performer took place at TKD 2025!
Apart from this zero-emission excavator, we also developed a brand-new Powerbox 300, because the 17W is more efficient and can run just as long (9-14 hours) with 100 kWh less in the battery pack. Additionally, the Powerbox 300 is equipped with a built-in AC inverter and can therefore also be used off-grid. For example, to power your construction site office containing the coffee machine. Incidentally, this Powerbox 300 and its smaller sibling (Powerbox 200, currently under development) can easily be transported on a trailer behind a passenger car.
