STAAD 17W: awarded an iF DESIGN AWARD
This award was presented in the Product Design discipline, Machinery category, and recognizes the innovative and outstanding design of this electric mobile excavator: read more about it here.
A brand-new and groundbreaking electric mobile excavator specifically designed for operator comfort. The STAAD 17W is not a converted machine, but a fully electric solution. The design of this electric machine has been optimized for working in confined spaces, featuring a compact superstructure and an innovative boom design. The total swing radius of the superstructure has been reduced by 74 centimeters compared to a similar standard 17.4-ton diesel excavator.
With this mobile excavator, Staad introduces the Powerbox 300, a robust and compact battery pack designed to withstand harsh conditions and weather, making it ideal for use in dusty environments. The newly developed, interchangeable Powerbox 300 can also be used as an independent and self-contained AC power generator, offering a flexible, sustainable energy solution for various on-site power needs. With the Powerbox 300, the STAAD 17W excavator can operate continuously for 9 to 11 hours*.
The STAAD 17W is 100% emission-free and offers the high productivity you would expect from a machine. It is powered by an electric motor delivering 104 kW of nominal power. Thanks to the easily interchangeable Powerbox 300, it is possible to operate this machine 24/7. Replacing a Powerbox 300 is just as quick as refueling a diesel machine. By utilizing a high-voltage system, an electric chassis, and further optimizations, there is less loss and greater efficiency is achieved.
Please note: The STAAD 17W will be available in mid-2026. Follow our social media channels for more information. Also check out the Staad Manufacturer website: www.staad.com.
