With the introduction of the new Doosan DX380LC-7 40-tonne model, the Doosan product line of 30 to 40-ton Stage V excavators is complete. The Doosan DX380LC-7 , together with the new Stage V Doosan DX300LC-7 30-tonne and the Doosan DX350LC-7 37-tonne models, offers an unrivaled combination of high performance, extensive features, low fuel consumption, high reliability and a long service life.
The new Doosan Stage V excavators build on the highly successful design of the previous Stage IV machines. Doosan introduces significant improvements in operator comfort, machine control, productivity, availability and return on investment.
Doosan has done its best with these 30 to 40 ton machines to ensure that higher productivity and environmental friendliness go hand-in-hand. The Doosan DX380LC-7 is equipped with a Scania DC09 Stage V diesel engine with 240 kW power at 1800 rpm. The new power levels available on all three machines make working with the new excavators easier. These four power levels are; P+, P, S or E. A driver can set this for both single-acting and double-acting use.
Doosan D-ECOPOWER technology
The Doosan DX380LC-7 features the innovative D-ECOPOWER technology, just like the Doosan DX350LC-7 crawler excavator. This offers users higher productivity with lower fuel consumption per hour, as well as smoother operation. The D-ECOPOWER technology focuses on the hydraulic system, allowing Doosan to make all processes and parts of the machine work together. This means that the new generation of diesel engines uses the power as efficiently as possible.
Doosan's D-ECOPOWER technology uses an electronic pressure-controlled pump within a closed hydraulic system. Depending on the mode selected, productivity increases by up to 26% and fuel consumption decreases by up to 12%. A closed-center main control valve minimizes pressure loss, while the electric pressure-regulated pump more effectively controls and optimizes engine power.
The D-ECOPOWER system uses nine sensors that electronically and accurately control the required amount of hydraulic oil you need for the job at that moment, instead of having a fixed amount of oil pumped through the system all the time. This saves the system fuel. The electronics are controlled by software to realize the benefits of an open hydraulic system with a minimum loss of energy.
In addition, the joysticks provide the operator with better feedback, allowing the operator to control the machine more efficiently and reduce fatigue. The dig workgroup responds more smoothly to start and stop, reducing operator shock during repeated digging and swinging.
More comfort and easier to operate
Where the cab already excelled in space and ergonomics, that of the Doosan DX380LC-7 takes user comfort and ease of use to an even higher level. As with the other two Stage V models, the cab has a high-quality seat and offers more features as standard than other machines available. This makes it possible to operate all applications extremely smoothly and accurately.
Important new features in the cab:
• New 8-inch LCD color touchscreen, which is 30% larger and provides more information;
• Stereo system integrated into the instrument panel;
• Keyless starting system;
• Improved cab design;
• Ultrasonic obstacle detection (option);
• LED lamps (option);
• Side protection (option);
• Air compressor (option).
Standard 360° cameras that provide a view of the entire area around the excavator, so that the operator can view that area from above. This concerns a camera on the front, two on the sides and one on the back. The camera and instrument panel have separate displays.
The new Doosan DX380LC-7 comes factory fitted with the state-of-the-art Doosan CONNECT wireless fleet management system. The Doosan CONNECT system provides a fleet management system that monitors the performance and safety of the machines and encourages preventive maintenance.
