GMB has been a customer of Staad since last year. The name GMB is not an abbreviation, but simply the name of the Dutch family business from Opheusden (Gelderland). A collaboration that got off to a strong start immediately, as this order resulted in no fewer than nine excavators (diesel and electric) and four interchangeable Powerbox 400 battery packs for the electric machines. For your convenience, we have listed the overview below.
Electric excavators from Staad
Conventional excavators from Develon
What makes this order particularly strong is the customer-specific build based on GMB's wishes. And those wishes didn't just appear out of nowhere: GMB truly listened to the operators who will soon be working with these machines. In addition to the fact that all excavators are being delivered in the recognizable GMB corporate colors, every machine is equipped with custom features. Because let's be honest: no one knows better what a machine needs than the person who will be operating it every day.
For this first DX355LC Electric crawler excavator, the first in a batch of four, the following work was carried out in our workshop, fully according to customer specifications:
TWIN Groeneveld grease lubrication, where the grease cup has been lowered for easy filling;
BMair Freshfilter F50 preparation;
Matt Nielen detachable tilt coupler with multi X coupling;
Boom extended (12.3 meters) whereby:
- Boom extends & straightens
- Spoon handle lengthened & bent
Counterweight: 1,000 kg weighted;
Lifting eye welded onto dipper stick including CE certificate;
Boom: LED lighting package (6 pieces), of which 2 on the inside of the dipper stick with protection;
Work lighting: 2 LED lights on counterweight;
Tool box mounted in the undercarriage;
Brigade 360° camera system with AI;
Curved armored glass roof window (fixed mounting)
Stainless steel protective plate at the cabin entrance and stainless steel clog support on the cabin;
Hose rupture valve on bucket cylinder;
Electrically switched swing damping;
Electrical switching to extra hydraulic function;
Sprayed in GMB corporate colors and finished with a clear coat;
GMB company logo and decals applied.
Of these four brand-new tracked powerhouses, three are being built identically to customer specifications. The fourth will have slightly different specifications, but you will read more about that when that machine is delivered.
This first DX355LC Electric was delivered directly to the project using the Staad combination. The journey took them to Echteld (Gelderland), where the machine will get to work on the Neder-Betuwe dike reinforcement project. On-site, our demonstrator provided a detailed explanation of the zero-emission excavator, after which the operator could get straight to work. Together with representative Frank Verbij, it was a wonderful moment, during which even the last questions could be answered.
You’ve probably already guessed: this isn’t a quick deal, but a well-considered long-term investment. Because delivering machines is one thing. Ensuring they keep running? Always.
We wish GMB Nederland and the operator of this machine many pleasant, safe, and emission-free operating hours. On to the next delivery.
